Get The Browns To 3rd Down

Last week, the Browns only converted on two of their 10 third downs. The Bills went 3-13 on third down conversion attempts against the Ravens. The moral of the story is that the Ravens defense should be able to force a fair number of Browns punts.

The Ravens have to win on first and second down. Putting the Browns in tough third downs will allow the Ravens pass rush and improved secondary to dictate the game. Last year the Ravens secondary was in shambles. The Ravens bet on their secondary last week; it looks like a bet the Ravens are willing to keep making.

The Ravens offense did well on third down in week 1. The Ravens went 6-15 on third down conversions. While Bills penalties seemed to help the Ravens right when they needed it, moving the ball really wasn’t the problem last week. What happens on third downs could be the difference between a close game and a Ravens blowout.
