The Case For Jamaal Charles:

Charles is an injury prone running back who had his 2016 season taken away from (you guessed it) an injury. In the past two seasons he’s played a total of eight games. Nobody is investing a big contract on Charles. The Ravens could get him for a bargain. If he comes to the Ravens on a deal that favors the franchise, it’s low risk and possibly high reward.

Look at the numbers he has put up when he’s healthy. We’re talking about a 5.5 yard per carry average. We’re talking about 49 runs of over 20 yards and 16 runs over 40 yards in his career. If he is on the field he is a weapon. We don’t know if he’ll ever be the same player, but if it comes at the right price, the Ravens aren’t risking a lot.

Charles would pair perfectly with Kenneth Dixon. Anything Dixon can do, Charles can too. The Ravens wouldn’t give away their play-calling by which back was behind or next to Flacco. Charles wouldn’t need to be the workhorse. He could be a timely weapon for the offense when it needs a spark. I think that’s worth a shot.
