Offensive Guard

(NOTE: This is my wildcard position. I’m making the assumption that if the Ravens were to draft an OG, they would move Alex Lewis to right tackle or center. Harbaugh expressed this possibility during last week’s AFC Coaches Breakfast.)

Forrest Lamp (Western Kentucky, 6’4″, 309 lbs) – Hear me out on this one. The first step to revitalizing an offense begins with the offensive line, which the Ravens are very committed to improving. Lamp is know for his cunning technique, as he plays with great balance, light feet and the ability to excel in zone-blocking schemes. In an extremely weak offensive linemen class, Lamp is considered to be one of the best – that notion could belong to the Ravens as well. I know it sounds bizarre but stranger picks have been made (*ahem* Kyle Boller *ahem*).

Taylor Moton (Western Michigan, 6’5″ 319 lbs) – This is more of a scenario where the Ravens would trade down in the first round (which they’re known to do). Moton is a big dude with a monstrous frame and impressive arm length. His ability to play at both right guard and tackle could help ease uncertainty in the offensive line. If all else fails, the Ravens may invest in this sleeper pick.
