Ed Reed makes the Eagles Pay:

I’ll be honest, there are a large number of performances from Ed Reed that could have been put in this list. There was the sack-fumble against Washington in 2004, the blocked punt that sparked the comeback against the Seahawks in 2003 and a ton of interceptions. The best game he ever played may be against the Eagles in 2008.

In this game Reed had two interceptions. He walked his way into the record book by returning an interceptions 107 yards for a touchdown. On that day he didn’t just break any old record, he broke his own. We’ve talked about that play before. Let’s look at it from another angle. That sparked one of the best interception sprees of all time.

Starting with that game, Reed had two interceptions in four of the next six games. Coming into that game Reed had only one interception that season (he returned it for a touchdown too). Reed ended up with nine interceptions, tying a career high. I guess you could say that the Eagles woke up a sleeping giant. Reed went on two have another two interception game in the playoffs against the Miami Dolphins. It may be the best stretch of football any defensive back has ever played.
