Bad Game Management:

The Ravens play-calling was awful in this game on both sides of the football. The defense wasn’t aggressive enough, the offense wasn’t awake enough. Every third down it seemed like the Ravens did a conservative call. Marty Mornhinweg was incapable of calling passes past the line to gain. Sam Koch punted six times. Justin Tucker kicked three field goals. The Ravens played poorly, yes, but they didn’t give themselves a chance with their coaching either.

The Ravens are incompetent when it comes to the hurry up offense. Right before the half, they couldn’t decide if they wanted to score or if they wanted to take it into the half. They ended up getting a first down and all of the sudden they found some urgency. The half ended with them trying to spike the ball at the last second. They didn’t and even if they did, there options would have been incredibly limited. The team looked like they had no clue what they wanted to do. They looked like they had no clue how they wanted to do it either.

At the end of the game the Ravens looked just as clueless. The Vikings gave the Ravens short passes because the clock was their enemy. The Ravens didn’t force the issue, though they had nothing to lose. The game was already out of hand. They should have tried to make plays down the field. Everything the Ravens did throughout this game was frustrating. Not only did they play poorly, they didn’t change anything throughout the game.
