Baltimore Ravens: 3 reasons they must go after Jarvis Landry
3. Step into the modern age of football:
The Baltimore Ravens play with an old school mentality. It was a nice philosophy when you had Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, Terrell Suggs and Haloti Ngata all playing on the same defense. It was a nice philosophy when it could lead to the NFL playoffs and Super Bowls. The 2000 Ravens are not the kind of team you see winning Super Bowls in the modern age of football. Every time I watch football from around the league with my Mom she asks why other teams make it look so much easier. Well, my response is usually because other teams have invested in their offense.
The Ravens are great at finding talent, but they are horrible at prioritizing. The purple and black haven’t invested in their offense and it shows. The Pittsburgh Steelers surrounded Ben Roethlisberger with Antonio Brown, Le’Veon Bell, Martavis Bryant and JuJu Smith-Schuster. The New England Patriots have Rob Gronkowski, Julian Edelman and Brandin Cooks. I could go on and on but the point is pretty simple: Good teams have good players at the play-making positions. It takes one superstar and a few good pieces. The Ravens don’t even have the good pieces for the most part.
