In regards to Jarvis Landry, the free agent apple of the Ravens Flock’s eye, Baltimore got news they didn’t want to hear:

Yes, the Dolphins are planning on using the franchise tag on Jarvis Landry. This effectively ends the Ravens hopes for attaining him for the 2018 season. This is frustrating news for Ravens fans who have been clamoring for a legitimate star wide receiver, long before Breshad Perriman proved to be a wasted draft pick.

Jarvis Landry would have been the perfect addition to the Baltimore Ravens. He would have been the best receiver the Ravens ever had (at least in terms of talent). Landry is a machine when it comes to catching the football. The prized wide receiver caught 112 passes for a underachieving Dolphins team.

I think it goes without saying that the Ravens don’t feel bad about their 40-0 beat down of the Dolphins this season. The Ravens probably feel even better about their 38-6 victory over Miami in 2016. When you stop to think about it, Kiko Alonso probably made sure that there would be hard feelings towards the Dolphins in Baltimore.

Therapeutically lashing out of the Dolphins is now out of the way. It’s time to look at the plan B for the Baltimore Ravens. If you’re getting on the Allen Robinson train of thought, you can hop off. He’s most likely getting tagged as well. The Ravens have walked into the most frustrating part of free agency. Weeks of hopeful speculation goes by before the top names are taken off the market.

Plan B:

The Ravens best course of action may be two good signings instead of one big one. The Ravens may be able to sign a big tight end like Jimmy Graham. It’s possible that they could pair it with a signing of a player like Paul Richardson. The Ravens will get a chance to add to the roster in free agency, even though they won’t get what they want the most.

The most important thing for the Ravens is to not waste any time sulking. Signing Landry wasn’t a given, even if he hit the market. The Ravens have to make as much cap space as they can. The moves are coming and they will hopefully lead to something wonderful for the offense.
