Baltimore Ravens: 5 players not worth taking in the first round

The Baltimore Ravens can’t miss this first round pick up in a crucial year. Here are a few players the team should avoid taking at No. 16.

The Baltimore Ravens have many options in the first round. At pick No. 16, they will still have a chance to select one of the most talented players in this draft. Most likely, there will be at least three (probably four) quarterbacks taken in the first half of the first round. Fortunately, that is not a need for Baltimore this year. Hopefully, they will have a chance to select their favorite guy.

The Ravens need help at wide receiver, tight end, offensive tackle, and inside linebacker. Fortunately, all of those positions are strengths in this draft. Therefore, Baltimore doesn’t need to reach for a need in the first round. A first-round pick needs to be a game-changer, regardless of position. A first rounder needs to make your team significantly better, no matter if it is a position of strength or weakness.

With that being said, here are five players that are not worth taking at No. 16.

1. Any tight end

Even though tight end is a position of need, there isn’t a clear-cut, top-tier talent. No O.J. Howard or Eric Ebron will be found in this draft. Therefore, Baltimore can wait till later to address this position. Mark Andrews and Hayden Hurst are probably the top two guys at this position. However, it could honestly go in any order. Most of the tight ends are so close to each other, so the Ravens are better off taking a different direction in the first round.
