Kamalei Correa:

Encore!

It’s no secret by now that Kamalei Correa dominated the Hall of Fame Game against the Chicago Bears. Correa was spectacular, ammassing three sacks, two TFLs, and an interception all in one game. That’s certainly a great way to turn some heads.

Correa’s roster spot was in question headed into this season, but so far he’s on a mission to prove he belongs on the Ravens 2018 team. A move back to outside linebacker seems to be working thus far, as Correa was impressive throughout camp and in his first 2018 action. Heading into week one of the preseason, Ravens fans are hoping he continues that trend.

The Los Angeles Rams provides Correa with an opportunity to shine against a brilliant offensive mind in Head Coach Sean McVay. If Correa impresses again, we may have to start talking about him as getting a serious spot on the Ravens edge rushing rotation. Correa is easily the player we’re most excited to watch on defense Thursday night.

DeShon Elliott:

DeShon Elliott may not be the flashiest athlete, but he’s certainly a treat to watch.

Elliott was a ball-magnet during his career at the University of Texas. In three seasons with the Longhorns, Elliott nabbed nine interceptions and forced three fumbles. The Ravens took him in the sixth round hoping he could do more of that at the next level. If his Hall of Fame Game performance is any indication of things to come, we have something exciting to look forward to.

During the game, Elliott forced a fumble on Bears receiver Demarcus Ayers, flashing the kind of play-making we saw him do in college. It’s not just turnovers that define Elliott as a player, however. Elliott also wants to be known as an enforcer and punish opposing players with big hits.

Thursday night against the Rams gives Elliott another opportunity to shine, and hopefully he’ll make the most of it. With the top three safety spots secured between Eric Weddle, Tony Jefferson, and Anthony Levine, Elliott is essentially trying out for a 2019 starting spot. Until then, he makes these preseason games more enjoyable to watch.
