Ronnie Stanley vs. Von Miller:

More from Ebony Bird

The league’s best pass rusher in Von Miller comes to town and it doesn’t seem like there’s anything Baltimore can do about it. Miller is an annual a Defensive Player of the Year candidate, and is off to a strong start once again in 2018, recording 4.0 sacks and two forced fumbles in the team’s first two games. When it comes to Von Miller, all you can do is hope to limit the damage he’ll cause. Miller will get his licks in for sure, but that’s where Ronnie Stanley comes into play.

Consistently overlooked across the league, Ronnie Stanley is a staple and maybe even a franchise level left tackle for the Ravens. Stanley is stout in the run game and has improved every year in pass protection. But Miller presents quite possibly the biggest task imaginable in trying to stop Von Miller.

To ask your left tackle to man-handle and shutdown Von Miller for 60-minutes isn’t fair to ask of anyone, let alone Stanley. Miller is almost entirely unstoppable, and would even have a solid day (at worst) against some of the best offensive tackles of all-time. However, letting Miller get loose and have a field day against the Ravens is unacceptable and will be the downfall of the team. Stanley needs to step-up his game big time this Sunday and prove his worth to the league.
