The Baltimore Ravens face the Denver Broncos in week 3 of the NFL season. Here are five questions facing the purple and black this week:

1. Which Ravens team shows up?

This is almost a ferocious question, but the Ravens make us ask it every week. This is a Baltimore Ravens blog. We’re going to cover the Ravens through the good times and the bad, but John Harbaugh’s team needs to give us a reason to take them seriously. The new season brought about hope. 47-3 validated the Ravens faithful who found their way back to being excited about Ravens football. The loss to the Bengals didn’t erase that 44 point victory from week 1, but it certainly raised doubts.

The Bills might be a bad team, but the Ravens played very well in their opener. Joe Flacco was on target. The new receivers showed off their skills and the front seven ate the Bills’ offensive line up for lunch, The team that won 47-3 can beat any team in the NFL. They didn’t just beat a bad team, they showed that they were in a completely different class.

This is the frustration with Harbaugh’s Ravens. The Ravens are a talented team and the results should be higher than they have been. Missing the playoffs three seasons in a row is a result of the Ravens inconsistency. Losing to the Bengals on the road, when they played well, that’s almost a forgivable loss. It happens right? Well it wouldn’t be the end of the world if the Ravens hadn’t gotten off to a 21 point deficit before anyone in Baltimore could even reach the panic button. The efforts the Ravens have given have been incredibly contrasting. Forget about the Denver Broncos for a second. Which Ravens team is going to show up?
