A 3-2 Baltimore Ravens team has certainly had it’s ups and downs thus far, but their 2018 defense has been everything fans had hoped for.

Despite consistent overreactions from a fan-base that can’t stand losing, the 2018 Baltimore Ravens defense has been pretty damn solid. Across the field, there are numerous players who are either having career years or are continuing their stellar play they’ve presented throughout their careers. You’d be hard-pressed to find weaknesses on this defense, it would simply be nitpicking.

All of this despite the fact that this defense laid an egg against the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday Night Football back in week two. The defense surrendered 34 points and failed to record any sacks or turnovers. Taking away this performance makes a world of difference in numbers, to the point that it’s nearly incomprehensible.

With the other four games taken into account, the Ravens are surrendering just 10.8 Points Per Game, nearly four sacks per game (would be on pace for 64 in a single season), and five interceptions (on pace for 20 total). The Ravens defense allowed 24.7 PPG and notched 41 sacks and 22 picks in 2017. fair to say the 2018 defense has certainly improved on their 2017 counterparts. And it all starts with those aforementioned players who have stepped up big-time in 2018.
