Terrell Suggs, OLB (2019 Age: 36)

Continuing with the effort to make the team younger, the Ravens should let the aging pass rusher walk this offseason. Suggs has been marvelous in his mid 30’s, but it’s unlikely he continues this play much longer. He’s been slowing down since he tore his Achilles in 2015 and he’s been a non-factor in half the games this season.

The theme of the Ravens defense this year has been old and slow, but smart, and that’s what Suggs has become. It’s time to start the new wave of pass rushers and draft more. The Ravens could start Za’Darius Smith or Tim Williams with Matt Judon on the other side, but if they don’t trust either in the starting role, then they could sign someone like Shaq Barrett. The OLB from the Broncos could probably be signed for an inexpensive contract and could split a lot of time with Za’Darius Smith.

There are also options in the draft like Josh Allen, from Kentucky, Montez Sweat, Mississippi State, or Chase Winovich, from Michigan. There are multiple routes to get younger, faster, and hopefully better, but Eric DeCosta needs to take advantage of these options to build the future defense into one that scares opposing offenses.
