Lamar Jackson gave the Ravens a chance and showed great poise:

Lamar Jackson didn’t have a huge passing day, but this was easily his best game as a starting quarterback. Jackson made some big passes in this game. He found Maxx Williams for a touchdown on a clutch 4th down pass. That was huge, the Ravens trusted Jackson to make a play with his arm, when it was a do or die situation.

Jackson completed a pass to Willie Snead under an insane amount of pressure for a big first down. Snead was his go to guy in this game. Each of Snead’s five receptions came when the offense really needed it. Jackson also found John Brown for a touchdown.

In every game Jackson has made plays that were special. His touchdown pass to John Brown was just that. He’s not fully developed as a passer, but he dropped back and made a perfect pass in the red zone. Jackson is showing signs of being special. There were key mistakes in this game by Jackson, but it never derailed him or the team. They kept going about their business, and you could tell that the purple and black believed they could win the football game.

More from Ebony Bird

Jackson had 147 yards passing and 71 yards rushing. He put up 218 yards of the Ravens 321 total yards. Ravens fans have to give him some credit. He may not be a great passer yet, but that isn’t something fans should get bogged down on. Jackson is making a huge impact and he just gave the Ravens a chance to win against the current top seed in the AFC.

Jackson had an awful lot asked of him. He had to come into Arrowhead Stadium, which was basically his first test in front of a rowdy crowd, and top the best scoring offense in the NFL. Jackson had some key mistakes and if Kansas City doesn’t miss a late field goal, his fumble would have cost Baltimore the game in regulation.

Here’s the deal though, this game went about as good as a game could go for it to still end in a loss. Jackson may have only had 147 yards via the air, however he delivered on the game plan he was tasked with.
