KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI – DECEMBER 09: Quarterback Patrick Mahomes #15 of the Kansas City Chiefs shakes hands with quarterback Lamar Jackson #8 of the Baltimore Ravens after the Chiefs defeated the Ravens 27-24 in overtime to win the game at Arrowhead Stadium on December 09, 2018 in Kansas City, Missouri. Isaiah Strumpf’s prediction:

Week 3 is upon us and the Ravens have a chance to make a statement, not only to their AFC North rivals, but to the entire NFL. Baltimore travels to ArrowHead Stadium to try and take revenge on the Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. Last season’s battle between the two left Baltimore fans in heart break, as Mahomes made the throw of the season to Tyreek Hill in fourth and nine in overtime. The Ravens had him beat until the eventual MVP did what he does.

That was then and this is now. Lamar Jackson is much improved, the offense is one of the tops in the league through two weeks, and the Ravens, albeit a bit banged up, have one of the top secondaries in the league, including some guy named Earl Thomas III. In what is his only career loss, Jackson is looking to avenge the outcome from last season, and put on a show Sunday. He hasn’t forgotten just how close this team was from stealing a victory in one of the most hostile places in the league. He intends to reverse the scoreboard in favor of the Ravens and I think just that will happen.

The weather is going to be nasty. Heavy rain is in the forecast around game time, and that gives Baltimore the advantage. The Ravens have the superior run game and in a sloppy weather game, that is a huge factor. With no Damien Williams, Eric Fisher, or Tyreek Hill, the Chiefs are going to find themselves in a tough spot. Mahomes will have to provide MVP caliber play once again and I don’t know if that will be possible in the conditions that are expected. What I do expect is for the Ravens to lean on their run game heavily in this one, using all three backs throughout the game and of course Lamar Jackson, the QUARTERBACK as well.

Bold Prediction:

The Ravens rush for over 250 yards and three of Lamar Jackson, Mark Ingram, Gus Edwards, and Justice Hill have a touchdown.

Score:

Ravens 27 Chiefs 24
