Colts

Anthony Richardson, QB: Usually it takes a couple of years of a quarterback being a reckless runner for a team to start begging him to protect himself, but for Anthony Richardson, it only took two games. Richardson has been injured in each of the first two games, but he’s also looked like the best of the rookie quarterbacks. He has three rushing touchdowns and one passing TD to just one interception.

Zay Flowers, WR: Speaking of dynamic rookies, Flowers has looked electric through two games. In Week 2, he had four catches for 62 yards and is averaging 70.0 yards per game. Flowers is far and away the No. 1 receiver on this team with 15 targets. Odell Beckham Jr. is second with seven.

John Harbaugh deserves so much credit for not being happy with the status quo in Baltimore. There is a very real world in which Harbaugh held onto Wink Martindale as his defensive coordinator and Greg Roman as his OC, and the Ravens clawed their way to another playoff appearance and early exit. Instead he was bold and made a change to innovators who are taking this team to the next level. 

The offensive change has turned Lamar Jackson into a rhythm passer who is completing 74.5% of his passes and last week he had an average depth of target of 9.5 yards. On top of that, he’s also the scariest scrambler in football and has run for 92 yards on just 18 carries. Todd Monken is creating more explosive plays in the passing game by having more receivers on the field, but isn’t sacrificing anything in the run game. 

The Ravens have five passing plays of 20+ yards already this season after only having 33 all last season. That makes the Ravens one of the scariest offenses in the NFL. They are gaining 5.5 yards per play which ranks 11th against two of the best defensive coaches in the NFL in DeMeco Ryans and Lou Anarumo. 

On defense, it’s been even more impressive what Mike McDonald has done. He doesn't have much star power on that side of the ball, especially at edge rusher, but the Ravens have been excellent. They are only allowing 4.5 yards per play which is fourth best in the NFL. They are actually allowing the third most passing attempts, but are allowing just 7.5 yards per completion and 4.8 yards per attempts which rank fourth and fifth. 

The team in Baltimore looks like a Super Bowl contender through two weeks. Mike McDonald was able to confuse Joe Burrow with his simulated pressures and different looks up front on defense, so Anthony Richardson doesn't stand a chance if he plays. Dating back to last season, the Ravens are 3-0-1 in ATS in their last four games, with three of those against the Bengals. I trust them to cover here.
