Lamar Jackson's against the spread record as an underdog in his career is extremely impressive.

There is a ton at stake for the Baltimore Ravens in Week 16 against the San Francisco 49ers.

Not only can the Ravens stake their claim as the NFL best team with a win, but quarterback Lamar Jackson could move himself past Brock Purdy in the MVP race by beating him head-to-head in Week 16.

While Baltimore enters this game as a 5.5-point underdog on the rad, bettors and Ravens fans shouldn't be worried.

Jackson is one of the best quarterbacks you'll find as an underdog, covering the spread in 11 of his 13 games as a dog in his NFL career. That's insanely impressive.

The Ravens were road underdogs earlier this season against the Cincinnati Bengals, and Jackson led the team to an outright win. Can he do that again when the Ravens take on the 49ers?

Let's take a look at the latest odds before I explain why it's possible:

Why Lamar Jackson, Ravens are great bet in Week 16

Baltimore is a great bet to cover the spread in this game, as the 9-5 against the spread on the season, and Jackson has been money as an underdog.

The 49ers are the best team in the NFL in many people's eyes, and rightfully so after some of their blowout wins over other contenders (Dallas, Philly, Jacksonville) this season.

Still, I think the Ravens could be live for an upset here, something I mentioned in my straight up picks on BetSided this week.

If there's one way to beat this 49ers defense, its' by running the ball, and the Ravens are able to do that at an elite clip this season. San Francisco is allowing 4.3 yards per carry, so the Ravens may be able to slow this game down and keep an elite 49ers offense off of the field.

Also, are we just discounting what the Ravens have done on defense this season? The team is allowing the fewest yards per play in the NFL and the fewest points per game.

I think oddsmakers aren't giving Jackson and the Ravens enough credit heading into Week 16.
