Lamar Jackson appears rejuvenated to be with the Ravens after he inked a contract extension that made him the highest paid player in the NFL.

The Ravens have added weapons in the passing game over the offseason by signing Odell Beckham Jr. and drafting Zay Flowers in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft. Jackson is known for his rushing ability, but he has also gotten banged up over the past several seasons. It's time for him to refine his passing ability and the organization is giving him the weapons to excel.

Jackson had a bold claim at his contract extension press conference, and he's thinking about breaking records.

6,000 yards would set the NFL single season passing record, currently held by Peyton Manning with 5,477 passing yards, and would surely vault Jackson to the top of MVP consideration. Even if he comes up short of the record, the Ravens ability to create a dynamic passing game around Jackson's ability to run would make him worthy of MVP votes, similar to when he won the award unanimous in 2019. Currently, he is +1500 to win his second MVP.

There's still a long way to go in the offseason, but now that Jackson's contract has been sorted out and the offense looks far more dangerous, we can take a look at MVP odds, where Jackson may look underrated if the offense is as good as he envisions.
