Ravens are great bet vs. Bengals based on this one crazy trend

The Ravens have dominated against the spread when set as the betting underdog over the past few seasons.

The Baltimore Ravens took care of business in Week 1, beating the Houston Texans with ease.

Now, they have a much tougher challenge ahead of them in Week 2 when they take on the defending AFC North champions, the Cincinnati Bengals. The Bengals eliminated the Ravens in the wild card round last year, so the Ravens will be look to get their revenge.

And, I gotta tell ya, I like their chances. The Ravens are set as 3-point underdogs in this game and they have completed dominated in this spot over the past few seasons.

Let's take a look at the odds and then I'll break down the recent trends.

Ravens vs. Bengals odds

Ravens thrive as underdogs

The last 22 times the Ravens have been set as underdogs, they've gone 18-3-1 against the spread.

That's a pretty good spot to be in heading into this weekend's game. I'm personally shocked that they're set as 3-point underdogs in this spot in what I think should be close to a pick'em against a Bengals team that was dominated by the Browns in Week 1.

This is what I wrote about the game in this week's edition of the "Road to 272 Bets":

"I had two predictions for these teams heading into the season. I thought the Ravens would win the AFC North and I thought the Bengals would get off to a slow start through the first few weeks. We saw the same thing from Burrow and the Bengals last season when he missed the preseason with appendicitis. He might just be a guy that needs a few games to find his stride."
