The Baltimore Ravens are looking to move to 9-3 on the season and keep themselves in the conversation for the No. 1 seed in the AFC this season on Sunday Night Football against the Los Angeles Chargers.
The Chargers, who are just 4-6 this season, desperately need a win in Week 12 to stay in the playoff picture in the AFC. The team is currently in last place in the AFC West.
Baltimore lost tight end Mark Andrews for the season last week – a massive blow to the team on offense. Despite that, Baltimore is in a good spot to win the AFC North with Joe Burrow (Cincinnati) and Deshaun Watson (Cleveland) both going down with injuries.
The Ravens are road favorites on Sunday night, a sign that they’re expected to beat the Chargers in this game.
Oddsmakers still have this pegged to be a close game, so why don’t we attempt to predict the final score?
Ravens vs. Chargers odds, spread and total
Ravens score prediction
I love the Ravens to win this game, as the Chargers have struggled defensively (fifth worst in yards per play allowed) this season.
The Ravens should be able to move the ball rather easily in this matchup, and there is also a trend that I love for Lamar Jackson.
As an underdog – or a favorite of three or fewer – Jackson is 17-4 against the spread in his career. He’s already covered the spread in a position like this earlier this season against Cleveland.
That leads me to take the Ravens to cover in this game, but I also think this game will be lower-scoring.
The UNDER has smashed in night games this season.
Based on those trends, a one possession win for the Ravens on the road makes a ton of sense to me.
Final score prediction: Ravens 24, Chargers 20
