Texans vs. Ravens best anytime touchdown scorer picks (Andrews thrives with Lamar under center)

Can Mark Andrews find the end zone in Week 1 against the Texans?

The Baltimore Ravens come into Week 1 of the 2023 NFL season as a massive favorite – the only double-digit favorite actually – on the board against the Houston Texans.

Oddsmakers clearly expect the Ravens to win easily, which means they’re going to need to rack up some touchdowns to do so. For Ravens fans, that opens up a great opportunity to bet on some of your favorite players to score a touchdown in Week 1.

These anytime touchdown bets will cash as long as your player finds the end zone at any point in the game. Not a bad deal, right?

With Lamar Jackson healthy and new weapons like Zay Flowers and Odell Beckham Jr. in the mix, how should we wager on the Ravens?

I broke down my three favorite touchdown bets for Texans-Ravens in Week 1 below:

Best anytime touchdown scorer picks for Texans vs. Ravens

  • Mark Andrews anytime touchdown (+135)
  • Gus Edwards anytime touchdown (+290)
  • Dameon Pierce anytime touchdown (+185)

Mark Andrews anytime touchdown (+135)

The 2022 season was a weird one for Mark Andrews, as he faded a bit down the stretch, especially once Lamar went down with a knee injury.

The good news? Jackson is back and the Ravens have added more weapons to the receiver room which should open things up for Andrews.

In 2022, the star tight end scored five touchdowns in the first six weeks before failing to score again the rest of the season. With an improved offense, I think he’s the best bet to find the end zone of the Ravens’ pass catchers.

Gus Edwards anytime touchdown (+290)

Gus the Bus!

Ravens running back Gus Edwards is always a threat to see goal-line looks since he’s so good between the tackles, and he should be healthy in 2023 after missing time last season recovering from a season-ending injury he suffered prior to the 2021 campaign.

J.K. Dobbins is the lead back, but he’s priced at +105 at DraftKings to find the end zone. There’s a little more value in taking Edwards, who had four scores in nine games (four starts) in 2022 and six in 16 games (six starts) in 2020.

Houston’s defense allowed the second-most rushing scores in the league last season (25), so don’t be shocked if the Ravens get in easily on the ground.

Dameon Pierce anytime touchdown (+185)

We can’t only bet Ravens to score, so if you’re looking for the Houston side, Dameon Pierce is the way to go.

The second-year running back nearly ran for 1,000 yards in the 2022 season, racking up five total scores in the process. He’s probably the team’s best offensive weapon, and I wouldn’t be shocked to see him get a ton of touches with rookie CJ Stroud under center.

At nearly 2/1 odds, Pierce has some value in Week 1.
