Lorenzo Neal Signs With Raiders

Terrible news.  This guy was a big part of last year’s running success. He will be missed, and this makes it a real possibility that Le’Ron McClain will have to play fullback, most likely making the roles for Ray Rice and Willis McGahee bigger.  The possibility that there is a free agent veteran fullback available is not a possibility.  Unless you want a guy in a platoon role in Houston or a guy who was released this offseason by Green Bay, the replacement will have to come from within or from a large pool undrafted FA’s.

The team did sign a fullback out of Ole Miss, named Jason Cook who was arguably one of the SEC’s top 5 fullbacks last year.  He and Michael Oher are (presumably) excited to play with each other, and the possible leverage of a first round draft pick could get Cook a roster spot.
