Some Monday News

This will be one of two posts tonight.  Right after I post this, I’ll start working on the first installment of EbonyBird.com’s Awards Week.

There is a healthy amount of Ravens news out there today, some is speculative, some is confirmed and some is TOTALLY AWESOME!!!!  Let’s start with the totally awesome news.  Anita Marks is done.  That’s right, Anita Marks will no longer be the host of the afternoon drive-time show with Scott Garceau on 105.7 The Fan.  An epic failure as a Baltimore radio host, the world is now a better place without her polluting our minds from 4-7 every afternoon.  The report is that she declined a contract offer, but either way, it’s great news.

Second big story of the day is a rumor with some legitimacy.  Dean Pees, the former Patriots Defensive Coordinator, will be taking over at linebackers coach for the Ravens. As the report says, the status of current LBs coach Vic Fangio is unknown, but several reports indicate the same thing: Pees is in.

Lastly, the Bears are looking to hire QB coach Hue Jackson as their offensive coordinator. On Saturday, I posted about Jackson being linked to the Raiders’ head coaching position, so something may not have worked out there.  Jackson is due for another OC job, after being ousted after the 2007 season with Atlanta.  I don’t necessarily think Chicago would be the best place for him, or Oakland for that matter.
