Ravens 7-Round Mock Draft

facebooktwitterreddit

Although about 95% of the focus of Ravens draft coverage thus far has been on their first round pick, some of the team’s best players have come from late rounds in the draft.  Pro Bowler Le’Ron McClain was a 4th-round pick, Dawan Landry was a 6th-round pick, and several great Ravens were undrafted free agents (Bart Scott, Adailus Thomas just to name two.)  Here’s my Ravens-specific 7-round projection:

Notes: Asterisk (*) means that the pick is compensatory, and for some odd reason, the “School” box in the table for Jared Veldheer isn’t working. His school is the Division II school Hillsdale, in Hillsdale, Michigan.

Jermaine Gresham

TE

Oklahoma6’5″, 261 lbs. When all is said and done, the Ravens will get a free agent receiver. That makes TE a big need, and Gresham is a solid pick.257

Mardy Gilyard

WR/KRCincinnati6’0″, 187 lbs.The team will need a 4th receiver who can step up when Mason does actually retire. His returning skills are a bonus.389

George Selvie

DE/OLBSouth Florida6’3″, 252 lbs.Selvie is the quick pass rusher the Ravens like, and would be a good replacement for Trevor Pryce.397*

Akwasi Owusu-Ansah

CBIndiana (PA)6’0″, 207 lbs.Newsome showed last year he has no problem with lower competition drafting Lardarius Webb. More depth at CB is never a bad thing.4124

Mike McLaughlin

ILBBoston College6’0″, 242 lbs.An intimidating guy, McLaughlin is one of those guys who can make a solid impact in his first season.4133*

Myron Rolle

SS/FSFlorida St.6’2″, 215 lbs. It’s unlikely he’ll fall this far, but if he does, the Ravens will snap him up. I’ve heard his interview went phenomenally and hopefully his athletic ability returns after his year at Oxford.5158

Manase Tonga

FBBYU5’11”, 245 lbs.Tonga is a very good fullback from a school known for strong players. He can back up McClain and even step in at FB to let McClain run more.6197

Levi Brown

QBTroy6’3″, 229 lbs.A great senior season gets him drafted, and adds QB depth for the Ravens.6207*

Brett Swenson

KickerMichigan State5’8″, 178 lbs.John Harbaugh has said he’ll look at kickers in the draft, and Swenson is as good as they get.7236

Jared Veldheer

Offensive Guard6’8″, 312 lbs.Sure, the Ravens probably won’t draft two small-school players, but this guy’s huge, and could be a diamond in the rough being that big if he could make the team out of camp.7245*

Clint Gresham

Long SnapperTCU6’3″, 236 lbs.Why not? Matt Katula lost a game or two for the team, so some competition at least won’t hurt.
