Gaither’s MRI Results Still Unknown

Jared Gaither injured his foot, as I had noted on Monday, and nobody’s quite sure of what he did, how he did it, or the severity of it.  What we do know is that it’s legitimate, he says he’s not faking it, and that he received an MRI. The MRI happened yesterday, there was no news yesterday.  As has been the constant factor with everything Gaither, the news still hasn’t come out.

While the MRI is a legitimate case, and we should be fairly worried about Gaither’s foot, this injury is just fueling the fires of everyone who thinks he’s getting traded.

There’s not really much else to say anymore.  He’s been linked to the Bills, yes.  The front office says he’s not going anywhere, he says he’s not going anywhere, and nowhere have I read that those things are changing.

I don’t think Gaither is particularly pleased with moving to the right side of the line, but he hasn’t sat out of practice, demanded a trade or done sit-ups outside his house.  As far as we know, none of those things have occurred, but who knows if anything has happened behind closed doors.  I’ve said it a thousand times and I’ll say it now again: There’s no reason for the team to trade Gaither.  I feel like even if they did get a good cornerback, they’re deep enough at every position to not have to make a move, and losing Gaither would be a really big loss. Oniel Cousins is nowhere near the player he is, and with Joe Flacco poised to have an impact season, he’ll need all the protection he can get.

I don’t think we’ll have any updates tonight, but if we do, I’ll update this as soon as we hear them.
