What is up, Raven Nation? I have missed you all. I have been diligently watching every post, pre-season game, and sneeze coming out of Baltimore. It just seems like every time I have something to say, someone else says it. I have enjoyed Lauren’s series of Fantasy Football so far and can’t wait to read more. Currently, I just drafted my Fantasy Team this morning. Tell me what you think.
Quarterbacks– Josh Freeman and Matt Ryan
Running Backs– Jamaal Charles(Pictured), Steven Jackson, Ahmad Bradshaw, and James Starks
Wide Receivers– Andre Johnson, Reggie Wayne, Plaxico Burress, Emmanuel Sanders, Mike Williams (Tampa Bay’s)
Tight End– Brandon Pettigrew Kicker-Matt Bryant Defenses– Detroit Lions and Arizona Cardinals
Also I would like to give you my overall Fantasy Advice.
1. Do Mock Drafts before you do anything primetime, and even before you do those, follow these rules.
2. The Rankings are usually right- Stay within the rankings by the website. Don’t draft by name. Stay within at least 10 rankings down of the last pick.
3. Projections are good, but that’s not law- Don’t let the projections set up by the website tease you. ex.Vick have been great last year, but he can’t possibly repeat and at the later part of the year, defenses started figuring him out. Also, he may get injured again.
4. Keep a list of sleepers to pick up in the mid-later rounds- These can researched on http://fantasy.nfl.com
5. DON’T continue a run!- Sometimes, even in the early rounds there will start to be a run of defenses and kickers. DON’T PANIC!!!! Let the people draft whoever while you still pick from your list. Wait until at least till round 10 to draft a defense and a kicker.
6. CHECK BYE WEEKS. I have both Josh Freeman(right)
and Matt Ryan on my fantasy team as my only QBs, pretty great right? No. I stupidly forgot to check their bye week (the week the team doesn’t play) and they both have the exact same one.
One more thought, what do you think about doing an Ebony Bird Fantasy Football League? Comment on here if you’d like to. If enough people are interested, I’ll do a follow-up post with a link to it. Happy Drafting!
