Ravens Rackers: Week One

facebooktwitterreddit

Note: This is a new feature where I’ll be outlining how the Ravens players do every week in fantasy. Ravens Rackers aka the Ravens that rack up the most points in fantasy. Get it?

The week the Ravens and Steelers play, many people who have Ray Rice, Joe Flacco, Rashard Mendenhall, and Ben Roethlisberger sit them because they know this will be a defensive low-scoring battle. Those who risked it (or just forgot to adjust their rosters, like me) got extremely lucky! If they were on the Ravens side of it, that is.

Ray Rice, RB
We know how he ran all over that Steelers D. Rushing 107 yards with 1 rushing TD, a receiving TD and 40-some receiving yards. This all adds up to 26 points, that’s a pretty damn good day out of your RB playing the reigning number 1 run defense. Lucky for me, I have him.

Ravens D/ST
Wow. I hate myself. The D was projected 5 points whereas my other D, the Patriots, are projected 9. We’ll see how they do tonight but the Ravens D scored 21 points. That’s insane. It makes sense though since they held the Steelers to a TD, had some sacks, and obviously the fumble recoveries and interceptions.

Joe Flacco, QB
He had a very strong week in fantasy with 20 points from 3 TDs, 224 yards, and no picks or fumbles.

Anquan Boldin, WR
I have him too and usually when you start the RB and WR on the same team it doesn’t work out because both won’t score a lot of points. Boldin scored 13 though with a TD and 75 yards.

Ed Dickson, TE
I doubt anyone drafted him, but some might go claim him off the waiver wire after his 11-point, 60-yard, TD performance. That’s decent for a TE.

Billy Cundiff, K
He’s usually very strong in fantasy. This week he scored 9 points, which is pretty high for kickers. You usually get a max of 5 points from your kickers unless they have a great game like Cundiff did. And he only kicked one FG in this game since we scored so many damn TDs.

There ya go. The Ravens killed it in fantasy this week!
Ooh and as for the Steelers: their highest scorer was Wallace with 10 points. Ben Rethlisberger had a meager 5 points and the Steelers D: -3!
