Terrell Suggs Back In Action

As I reported yesterday, Terrell Suggs has been activated and is back in practice today. Suggs practice mostly consisted of jogging and throwing passes back and forth with other players, but the fact that he was back on the field and wearing pads put a smile on my face.

Oddly enough, Suggs did not wear a red jersey, indicating he was not to be contacted. This was most likely because he wasn’t participating in any contact drills, but it was still a bit odd.

Either way though, just seeing Suggs back in practice has to be a huge relief to Ravens fans who have endured a pretty tough week losing Lardarius Webb for the season and Ray Lewis, possibly for his career. It feels as if the pressure of this week has been taken away by Suggs. Taking pressure away has always been a specialty of Suggs. He is considered to be a jokester and a lighthearted guy and is often credited with putting problems in their place by bringing a smile to everyones face.

Today, he has definitely brought one to mine.

Suggs is scheduled to meet the media for the first time in months after tomorrows practice. I am looking forward to this presser more than any other in recent memory.

The one thing I will caution Ravens fans about is not putting too much pressure on Suggs to return. Suggs needs to be handled correctly so he doesnt re-injure himself. Don’t expect or demand him back anytime soon and when he does get back(probably after the bye), take it easy on him. He probably wont look like he did last season, at least not to start out.
