As I write this news has just broken that the Ravens have made Elvis Dumervil an offer. Dumervil has offers from Baltimore and Denver on the table. According to the denver Post the Broncos offer has more money upfront, but Dumervil doesnt like the idea of playing at a discount in the second year which might make the Ravens offer more enticing.

I have been vocal about Dumervil coming to the Ravens since about 6 minutes after he was released by the Broncos. Dumervil is, in my mind, far and away the best player left on the market and would be a perfect compliment to Terrell Suggs and would allow Courtney Upshaw to stay flexible in his spot on the field(Upshaw played everything from nickel corner to defensive tackle last year). Dumervil would represent a huge upgrade over Paul Kruger and probably at a bit cheaper of a price. Dumervil is more expensive than the other four players, but he is a much better player than any of those guys at this stage in their careers. Dumervil is also under 30 and there is a very good chance that if he were signed to a three year deal(the length reported by the Denver Post) he would have a very good chance to play for the life of the deal and then re-enter free agency when the cap is higher. That has to be pretty appealing to Dumervil.

The Baltimore Sun is reporting right now that the Ravens and Broncos are fighting for Dumervil and it would be a shock if he didnt end up in one of the two cities.
