Danny Cole over at Stripehype.com has done a new mock, and the Ravens have another new pick.

This time they were awarded Rutgers Linebacker Khaseem Green.

I am not super crazy about this pick. I like Green as a player, but he is a massive reach in the first round. Green is, at his highest, a mid second rounder. I am not even entirely sold on him that high. If the Ravens could get him late in the second with their 62nd pick, that would be cool with me, but 32nd is way, way to high.

Cole didn’t offer any explanation for the pick, but I would assume it would have had something to do with finding a replacement for Ray Lewis justifying a reach and blah, blah, blah. I think every ravens fans has heard about enough of that right?

I think for Ravens fans and for every mocker out there, it is time to come to grips with the likelihood that the Ravens probably wont be drafting an ILB in round 1. Unless an Alec Ogletree falls to them or the Ravens have more faith in Manti Teo than they have let on, There just isn’t much value to be had there, and the Ravens have never had an inclination to take linebackers in round one, they generally prefer to wait to the mid rounds where there is stronger value. I think they do the same this year.
