2013 NFL OTAs: Arthur Brown on Track For Training Camp

The ravens have been shorthanded at linebacker since second round rookie Arthur Brown had sports hernia surgery a few weeks ago, but it appear relief is not far away.

Training camp will start in July and Arthur Brown is on pace to be back and ready to go from the start. Browns surgery essentially just need time to heal, there isn’t any rehab or training to go through once he gets back. This is good news for the needy Ravens.

Browns absence has had a silver lining though, it has allowed other Ravens players, mostly project players, to get more reps in the minicamps. Albert McClellin and Courtney Upshaw are both OLBs playing inside, Bryan Hall is a converted defensive tackle who needs major adjustments to his game and as many reps as possible. Josh Bynes has shown promise but hasn’t had a big opportunity yet so this is big for him.

Brown is a shoe in for a starting job when he comes back and he will accordingly be taking starting reps, but now thanks to his absence so have a lot of other guys.
