This is awesome.

I have been pretty cynical about Rolando McClain, so I feel obligated to share this positive news about him and his future. About a month ago Rolando McClain abruptly retired from the NFL at the age of 23. His reasoning was that he needed to get his life back together before continuing to pursue football. An admirable stance, but I was highly skeptical of whether or not McClain would be successful unless he left Alabama where he seems to be surrounded by bad influences, distractions and(if you believe some people on the internet) a police department that may be out to get him.

Today we learned that McClain has Enrolled in school at Alabama and is set on finishing his degree before heading back to football. I love this. McClain needs a good structured environment and hopefully college can provide that for him. If he takes on a full class load he can schedule it so he spends his days in classes and a daily influence like that could do wonders to keep him  focused.

I have always been iffy about McClains future, but I really do hope he can pull himself out of his self destructive spiral and get back to a happy and crime free life. Good Luck Rolando.
