Rice has since lost 15 pounds, getting down to a leaner 210 and now working toward a goal of reporting at 205 for next season, according to his Timonium-based trainer, Kyle Jakobe of Sweat Performance.

“Ray’s body composition has completely changed since the end of the season,” Jakobe said. “He has lost 12 to 13 pounds, 12 to 13 bad pounds, and essentially replaced a lot of that body composition with lean muscle. You can see the difference in his face and his body. He has cut down his weight and you can see it in how he moves. He’s added lean muscle.

Early Free-Agent Moves Show Baltimore Ravens Back on Right Track

They have come away from the first couple of days of free agency as an improved team. Wide receiver Steve Smith is the biggest name to join the team, signing a three-year, $11 million contract. But it’s the players the Ravens have been able to keep who might be the bigger story.

Tackle Eugene Monroe, who was acquired via trade from the Jacksonville Jaguars last season, decided to stick around along with tight end Dennis Pitta, linebacker Daryl Smith and wide receiver Jacoby Jones.

Aaron Wilson, Baltimore Sun

The Ravens have shown interest in former Minnesota Vikings defensive tackle Letroy Guion, according to an NFL source.

No visit has been scheduled with the Ravens, and no major contract has been offered yet, though. Guion is set to visit the Green Bay Packers on Sunday and Monday. The New England Patriots also are interested in the 6-foot-4, 303-pound Guion.

The Ravens are expected to monitor him in free agency.
