Welcome to lunchtime links, where we round up all the latest Ravens news from around the web for your convenient consumption.  Today we report on the first day of Ravens and 49ers joint practice, sit down with the Harbaugh brothers, watch the play of the day courtesy of Steve Smith, and present the latest Ravens stock watch.

Clifton Brown as CSN Baltimore has five thoughts from the first Ravens and 49ers joint practice, or as we call it, “HarbCamp.”  Despite the media’s constant speculation that this practice would resemble a UFC match with tons of fighting action, there was none.  Both quarterbacks continued their solid play, and Elvis Dumervil was perhaps the most impressive player in practice.

Ryan Mink takes a little more of an in depth look at practice at the Raven’s official site.  Mink makes some interesting observations about the practice habits of both coaches, including how the Ravens start off with physical work while the 49ers wait until later in practice to get rough.  He also points out that Jim was in the huddle for each play call with the first team offense, while John stood behind the offense.  Interesting notes that remind us that while they are brothers, Jim and John have some different coaching techniques.

More from Ravens News

Jamison Hensley dittos Joe Flacco’s continued momentum over at ESPN, also pointing out strong performances from Kelechi Osemele and Jimmy Smith.  Hensley notes that following Ryan Jensen’s struggles at guard in the preseason game against the 49ers, the Ravens are now rotating fifth round rookie John Urschel in with the second team offense. Jensen also missed some time in practice with a minor injury, but later returned.  He is going to have to really step up if he wants to keep his spot in the rotation.

Bo Smolka at CSN Baltimore has the latest Ravens stock watch following the first preseason game.  It’s easy to agree with his assessments, which are spot on.  We are excited for Lorenzo Taliaferro’s potential and equally shocked by the incredibly fast rise of wide receiver Kamar Aiken.  Aiken, who has spent his career bouncing around practice squads on various teams, ran with the second team and led the Ravens in receiving Thursday night.
