Will Hill was officially activated to the Baltimore Raven’s active roster on Saturday.  The plan is to use him in Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons, albeit in what will most likely be a limited role.  To make room on the roster, the Ravens placed defensive lineman Christo Bilukidi on injured reserve with an ankle injury.

Hill’s activation is not a huge surprise after he reportedly looked good in practice this week, and he clearly has the talent to provide a major upgrade for the Raven’s poor safety unit.  Hill has routinely graded out as one of the best safeties in the NFL when he has been on the field.

Hill has been suspended three times in his NFL career for violating the substance abuse policy, but has repeatedly stated that his problems are now behind him and he feels fortunate to have a job.  The Ravens were more than happy to take a gamble on the talented youngster, and at least at this point it appears that they may just be rewarded.

Though Will Hill will likely play limited snaps this weekend, if he plays well, it won’t be long before he takes over as a starter.  It’s no surprise to anyone that Matt Elam and Darian Stewart are not the answer, and the Ravens have been steadily increasing rookie Terrence Brook’s snaps as well.
