Is it a little silly to buy into what happens during preseason games?  Should we really be placing a lot of faith in what teams are doing on the field during this arguably meaningless time of year?  Am I asking lots of redundant questions?

It’s always funny to see those “the sky is falling” types following a blowout loss in the preseason, the kinds of fans/analysts that predict doom and gloom based on a game that truly means nothing.  It’s almost as funny as the preseason “Super Bowl champion” types.

Regardless, power rankings reflect what teams are doing in the here and now.  And after last week’s crushing loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, is it fair to slide the Baltimore Ravens down a notch or two (or five)?  Depends on how you look at it, I suppose.

Regardless, this is a team plagued by injuries that played poorly in all aspects last week.  We’ll get a better handle on who they truly are this coming weekend in the Ravens’ regular season dress rehearsal. Until then, stop freaking out.  But don’t get too excited, either.
