Laremy Tunsil is a big offensive tackle prospect that expects to be drafted high in the 2016 NFL Draft.  Tunsil could surely be an option for the Baltimore Ravens with the sixth overall pick. The Ole Miss tackle has the build of a dominant tackle. There is no question that he looks the part.

Tunsil would fit in any blocking scheme. He is a good run blocker and a good pass protector. There were times in his Ole Miss career that Tunsil looked dominant. He has the potential to be great.

Strengths:

More from Ravens Draft

  • Thick 6’5″ 305 pound frame
  • Good athlete
  • Agressive run blocker
  • Quickly fires off of snap into pass protection, no wasted movement.
  • Uses pass rusher’s momentom to run him out of the play.
  • Great strength

Concerns:

  • Plays with too high of a pad level
  • Feet aren’t always moving. Relies too much on upper body strength.

Should The Ravens Draft Tunsil?

If the Ravens desire to help the offensive line with the sixth overall pick, it would be a choice between Tunsil and Ronnie Stanley. The top two tackle prospects have seperated themselves from the pack. It seems like the Ravens have needs more pressing than the offensive line though.

Tunsil is my second rated left tackle prospect. I think a top 10 pick of him would be unwise. That being said he has the potential because of the physical tools that he has.

The Ravens need playmakers more than anything. If Jalen Ramsey (DB FSU) or Laquon Treadwell (WR Ole Miss) were on the board, it would be hard to justify taking the offensive tackle. Tunsil could be drafted anywhere in the first round but a strong combine could enhance his chances of being a top 10 pick.
