Baltimore Ravens Need To Add Another Cornerback To the Mix
The Baltimore Ravens should not be finished adding to the team. That is because there are still two starting caliber cornerbacks available in free agency. Leon Hall and Brandon Boykin surprisingly find themselves on the open market. The Ravens would be foolish not to sign one of these players.

As a general rule, free agents don’t break the bank if they’re available near the end of May. As a general rule, you can never have enough help in the secondary. The Ravens should know this more than any team in the NFL. They have been struggling in the back-end of their defense for several seasons.
Adding Jerraud Powers was a good move. He can be the Ravens slot cornerback and he adds numbers at a thin position. But Hall and Boykin are solid corners who can start on the outside. At the very least they would provide an insurance policy for Shareece Wright.
Look at the Ravens roster right now. Wright is the second best cornerback that the team has. Wright was grabbed off waivers last season by the Ravens. He was available for a reason; Wright has had his fair share of horrible performances. Wright improved greatly towards the end of the 2015 season. But is Wright better than Boykin or Hall?
If Wright is as good as the Ravens hope he is, the addition of a cornerback gives the Ravens a surplus of talent. After the Ravens have had the secondary decimated by injuries, two seasons in a row, this should intrigue them.

The Ravens waited to address this need in the 2016 NFL Draft. They let 15 cornerbacks go off the board before they drafted Tavon Young. Young is a developmental player. The Ravens need a plan B in the secondary. Even with the addition of Powers and Young, they need Jimmy Smith and Wright to shine.
The Ravens can make another move at the cornerback position if they want to. I cannot see a reason why they should not sign Boykin or Hall.
