The Baltimore Ravens are in a win now mode, but what happens if they fail to make the postseason in 2017?

The Baltimore Ravens have made the playoffs one time in the last four seasons. The Ravens had a grueling 5-11 season in 2015. The Ravens record since winning Super Bowl XLVII is 31-33. Baltimore went 10-6 in 2014 and beat the Pittsburgh Steelers in the first round of the playoffs. Other than that, the Ravens have been overall mediocre since climbing the NFL mountain top.

If the Ravens had fired John Harbaugh after their 8-8 2016 campaign it would have come as a surprise. That being said, coaches have been fired for a lot less in the NFL. From 2008-2012 the Ravens went on the greatest stretch in franchise history. Every season gave the purple and black at least one postseason victory, and the Super Bowl was a magical time.

Now things have gone downhill. Harbaugh’s Ravens went in the right direction from their five win season, but it wasn’t enough. Now fans are left wondering if the Ravens need to start from scratch if they want to cook up some more playoff football. What do Ravens fans think Steve Bisciotti should do if the Ravens fail to make the playoffs in 2017?

We went to Twitter to find out this answer.

We have good news for Harbaugh. Of the 60 votes, only 18 percent said that the Ravens should fire him. 52 percent of the vote went to keeping him. The way the Ravens miss the playoffs matters to 30 percent of the voters who selected “It depends.”

Harbaugh Is Highly Respected, But How Patient Can The Ravens Be?

It seems pretty clear that Harbaugh has a lot of pull in the organization. He is a strong leader who is a great face for the franchise. Though it is a small sample size, and this poll is rather unscientific, these results suggest that Ravens fans would be hesitant to see Harbaugh get axed.

Harbaugh is surely on the hot seat, no matter how much he is liked. The glory from the first five years of his tenure is wearing off. A playoff win in Pittsburgh was worth a lot to the Ravens and their fans. However, the Ravens fan base is used to winning. If the Ravens fail to make the playoffs for a fourth time in five years, Steve Bisciotti will have a hard time not firing Harbaugh. The only thing we can hope for, is a great season that let’s the Ravens’ coach add to his impressive resume.
