We’re getting close to the end of the first round, in the Ravens Legends Bracket. Today we have a battle between Sam Adams and Rod Woodson
How do you make a Steelers fan mad? You remind them that Rod Woodson may have been a great Steeler but he won his only Super Bowl ring in Baltimore. Today we have a battle between two important pieces in the Super Bowl XXXV team. The Ravens first Super Bowl came from dominant defense. The 2000 Ravens had arguably the best defense in the history of the NFL. Who will win this contest between teammates? Will it be the great safety or the immovable object in the trenches?

Woodson spent most of his career with the Steelers, making him a very unique Ravens legend. There hasn’t been a lot of cross over in pro football’s fiercest rivalry. Woodson was one of the best players on the best defense I have ever seen. Ray Lewis was the heart and soul of the team, but Woodson provided the veteran leadership. He had four interceptions in the Super Bowl season and three the following year. Woodson only played two years in Baltimore, but he made them count.
Why Sam Adams is a Ravens Legend:
The Ravens defense dominated at the line of scrimmage. Like Woodson, Adams played for the Ravens from 2000-2001. In those two seasons Adams busted up a lot of running plays and had four sacks. Adams was a gigantic 350 pound defensive lineman that got the job done on a consistent basis. Having Adams and Tony Siragusa in the middle of the defensive line, was almost unfair. When teams tried to run it up the middle, Adams denied access.
Winner: Sam Adams
Sam Adams is the winner. He will face another teammate in the second round, Michael McCrary. This was a close contest. Adams won by one vote. In the end, the powerful defensive tackle was victorious
