The Baltimore Ravens sit at 1-5 entering the bye week. They have quickly fallen back in the AFC playoff picture and will need a historic turnaround if they want any chance at salvaging their 2025 campaign.
While Baltimore’s schedule is set to get easier after a six-week gauntlet to start the season, things are still a mess. The offense is out of sync, and their defense, despite a strong showing in Week 6, still ranks the worst in points allowed among teams that have played six games, with 194.
Although Head Coach John Harbaugh and the team have made it clear they still have hopes to compete this year, they are trending toward being sellers by the trade deadline. Only four teams in NFL history have made the playoffs after starting 1-5. If they come out of the bye week slow in their Week 8 matchup with the Chicago Bears, that would all but seal it.
Here are two Ravens who could be trade candidates as the trade deadline gets closer.
2 Ravens trade candidates
Kyle Van Noy
Veteran outside linebacker Kyle Van Noy is approaching the end of his tenure in Baltimore. He is in the final year of his contract, and at 34 years old, he may not be part of the team’s plans in the near future. As a result, General Manager Eric DeCosta could look to get some value in return before Van Noy leaves in free agency.
Van Noy is off to a slow start in 2025. He has tallied just one sack, three hurries, and has registered a 59.5 overall grade, per Pro Football Focus, through four games. Still, pass rush is invaluable, and if Van Noy is on the block, contending teams will come calling.
Van Noy is also coming off a 12.5 sack season in 2024, and he totaled nine sacks in 2023. He found the fountain of youth in Baltimore and has been a consistent threat as a pass rusher for the past eight years. He has 56 career sacks, and if the Ravens fall completely out of contention, plenty of teams could use Van Noy’s services.
Keaton Mitchell
Running back Keaton Mitchell has not done much in 2025, but that is more due to the lack of usage in Offensive Coordinator Todd Monken’s offense. He was a healthy scratch for the first four weeks, and despite finally being made active in Week 5 and Week 6, he saw limited action.
Two teams that could be suitors for Mitchell are the Los Angeles Chargers and New England Patriots. The Chargers lost their top two backs to injuries. Najee Harris is out for the season, and rookie Omarrion Hampton will not be eligible to return until Week 10 at the earliest.
The Patriots are without Antonio Gibson for the rest of the year. While Rhamondre Stevenson and TreVeyon Henderson are more than capable of handling bigger workloads, the offense had a three-back system early in the year, and they could keep that going by acquiring Mitchell.
There is still time for the Ravens to turn it around, but with each passing week, it appears that players like Van Noy and Mitchell could be dealt.
