Right now, the rest of the league has draft fever. The Ravens, and I, among many fans, do not. We just came off supporting a surprise 11-5 season, with a very disappointing end. The team could get star Anquan Boldin, but right now, that is a question mark to whether it will happen. There are just too many stories in this draft to know what will happen at #26. Here are a list of questions leading up to the draft, in no particular order:
- Will the Ravens acquire Anquan Boldin?
- The Lions will draft Matt Stafford #1. Or will they?
- Which OT will go first: Jason Smith or Eugene Monroe
- Will Andre Smith get his name called in the top 10?
- What will the Chiefs do now that they signed Zach Taylor?
- WHERE IS CRABTREE GOING?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
- Will Mark Sanchez end up going before Stafford if Stafford takes a Brady Quinn-style slide? The 49ers say they don’t want Stafford.
- How far will Darius Heyward-Bey fall? Will he go to Oakland at #7, or Baltimore at #26, or somewhere in between?
- Who will fall the farthest?
- Who will rise the highest?
- Will Tampa Bay take a QB?
- Will the Jets take a QB?
- Will there be any huge, unexpected draft day or pre-draft day trades?
- Will there be more than 1 running back drafted? Could there be 4?
- Where will Malcolm Jenkins, once considered one of the draft’s best players, go after a sub-par combine performance and at other workouts?
- Will Roger Goodell say any unfamiliar names in the first round? Who will they be?
- Will the Ravens continue with another stellar draft? Will one of the usual bust-producing teams bomb another one?
- Who will eventually come out as the draft’s best player?
As you can see, the pick at #26 has a lot that can lead to it’s result.
