News and Notes: Draft Eve

So today, as I write this about 24 hours before the draft, we still have no idea what the Ravens will do.  Here are some of the day’s biggest NFL stories, and probably ALL of the day’s Ravens stories.

  • The Cardinals lowered their trade demands for Anquan Boldin to a 2nd round pick and “other considerations.”  The Ravens are not thought to be in the running anymore.
  • Jason Campbell wants out if the Redskins trade up and draft a QB in the 1st round.
  • The NFL has had talks to host the Super Bowl in London.
  • The Giants are looking to trade ahead of our Purple Birds to take Darius Heyward-Bey.
  • The #1 pick is still in flux.  It looks like it will come down between Matt Stafford and Aaron Curry.  As of now, Stafford is ahead of Curry
  • Mel Kiper Jr. is very misguided.
  • My top 5 most likely picks at #26:
  1. Heyward-Bey     2. The top hybird on the board: (Probably Larry English, Northern Illinois.)   3. Kenny Britt    4. The top CB on the board   5. The top OL available (probably Eben Britton or Phil Loadholt)
  • The Broncos, Redskins and Bills are the most notable teams trying to trade up.  The Broncs and Skins for Sanchez, the Bills for Andre Smith
  • The Jets would want Jason Campbell if he was traded
  • Troy Polamalu and Larry Fitzgerald are on the cover of “Madden NFL 10.”  I guess that’s good for Joe Flacco.
  • The Patriots are trying to get into the top 10 for Tyson Jackson.
