NFL Draft Combine Starts This Week

Starting Wednesday with the players’ measurements (height and weight), the annual NFL Draft Combine will feed the hunger of fans of the NFL Draft for information about prospects.  After Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are used to do measurements, interviews and Wonderlic tests, among other practices, the players are thrown into very common football drills.  The 40-yard dash, vertical leap, broad jump and bench press are just a few of the several exercises that hundreds of scouts, General Managers, Head Coaches and other NFL personnel will see this year’s top prospects taking part in.

Here on EbonyBird.com, we’ll have extensive coverage of the event, which you can see on NFL Network while it happens.  We’ll first post a “Big Board” with our top 30 prospects going into the Combine, we’ll inform you about the top performances in several drills and analyze possible Ravens prospects’ performances.  Following the Combine, we’ll create another Big Board, post mock drafts and start to get into the specifics of certain Ravens prospects.

Last year, I commended performances at the Combine from players like Pat White and Louis Vazquez, who ended up raising their draft stock significantly and settling into a solid rookie season with their respective teams.  This year should also be a good indicator of when and where certain prospects might go.
