It’s no secret that the Baltimore Raven’s secondary has been lacking for quite some time. Many fans are excited about our first round draft pick, Jimmy Smith, and they hope that he will live up to expectations at the cornerback position. But will he be enough to solidify the Ravens secondary for next season and years to come?
"Yeah, we’re interested. We’re interested in all the good players,” Harbaugh said. “[But] I like our players. To me, the No. 1 priority isour players. I want our players re-signed. And that’s Ozzie’s No. 1 priority. … If we can’t get every one of them signed, then we’ll have to look outside or we’ll go with the younger guys, depending on who those guys are. – Head Coach John Harbaugh via The Baltimore Sun"
John Harbaugh confirmed that the Ravens would be interested in acquiring Asomugha this offseason. He’s a proven defender and is considered to be the second best corner in the league behind Darrelle Revis of the New York Jets. But acquiring such an immense talent is easier said than done. A player of that caliber would be expecting a big time contract that may be out of reach for the Ravens considering that they still need to resign players. Haloti Ngata is one of the most important players that must be resigned by the Ravens and I’m sure he is expecting a lot of dough to come his way. Though the possibility of signing Asomugha is slim to none, it doesn’t hurt to imagine him lining up opposite of Jimmy Smith wearing the Purple and Black. A guy can dream, can’t he?
