Ravens Rumor Mill: Le’Ron McClain, Dawan Landry, And Nnamdi Asomugha

Some very interesting developements today in this NFL free agent frenzy. A lot of rumors are flying around and some Ravens could be wearing different uniforms by the end of the day.

More after the jump…

Le’Ron McClain is the best all-around back in this free agent market. He is a punishing fullback and a great runner as well. From what I’ve been hearing, the Kansas City Chiefs look to be a likely landing spot for him. He started following ChiefsPR and Chiefscoalition on twitter this morning, which is interesting to say the least. Out of all the Ravens unrestricted free agents, McClain was the one I didn’t want to go, but it looks like that is inevitable at this point.

Dawan Landry is very close to a deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars. At this point, it’s very unlikely for him to turn back now. The deal is rumored to be five years. This means that Tom Zbikowski and Haruki Nakamura will compete for the position. They should be able to fill in nicely and I look for Zbikowski to take the job.

The race to land Nnamdi is down to two teams: the New York Jets and the Dallas Cowboys. The Ravens have been out of the race for awhile so don’t expect to see him wearing the purple and black. The Jets look to land him as Nnamdi wants a ring and the Jets sure do look like they can deliver. It’s going to be a bidding war but I can’t see the Cowboys winning. Either way, Asomugha will be coached by one of the Ryan brothers (Rex Ryan – Jets Head Coach/Rob Ryan – Cowboys Def. Coordinator).
