Baltimore Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs is sticking to his story by saying he tore his right Achilles tendon during conditioning drills despite reports of him injuring it during a basket ball tournament. Staff members of the gym where Suggs played in a basketball tournament reported that he planted awkwardly on his leg after colliding with another player.
"Well, I have other staff members that told me the same thing. The people who were scorekeeping, keeping the books, running the clock, they all said the same thing. He did it during the game. It looked like he stepped wrong. There was a collision, and he stepped wrong, possibly on someone’s foot. It was either the Achilles or the ankle because it was in that area. After that, he left and didn’t play. – Herman Hoffman, director of the Akchin Gymnasium where the tournament was held."
Regardless of how Terrell Suggs tore his Achilles, what’s done is done and you can’t fix it now. Fortunately, there’s no money-grubbing going on and the Ravens will pay him regardless of how the injury happened. Suggs seems determined to come back this season and we can only hope that he will not be permanently affected by this injury.
