This Morning reports came in that there was an armed man outside of the Chiefs Training facility. As More information has been revealed that man is now believed to have been Chief linebacker Jovan Belcher. At This time, Belchers motives remain unknown, but here is what we know happened at this point.

At 7:50 A.m. Police were called to the Chiefs Training Facility with reports of a “Gun Wielding man” outside the building. They were also told that a current Chiefs player had shot his girlfriend multiple times. Officers were rushed to the scene. It appears that Chiefs GM Scott Pioli along with Head Coach Romeo Crennell were, at this time, outside the building with Belcher. One can assume that the two men were trying to talk Belcher down, Pioli released an official statement in which he said, he never felt threatened by Belcher and that Belcher had thanked both himself and coach Crennell before taking his life. Police arrived at 8:10, but they were only in time to hear the gunshot as they were exiting their cars, Belcher had shot himself, and earlier in the morning, he had shot his girlfriend.

This is one of the saddest stories to surface in recent memory and immediately harkens back to the murder of Steve McNair which was also a murder suicide(in that case McNair was murdered by his girlfriend before she took her own life). It is an extremely difficult story to digest. It also could possibly be a very controversial story. While at the same time we can feel bad for Belcher who seems to have suffered a mental break of one type or another, we must remember that he killed hi girlfriend and has left a baby, less than one year old, an orphan who now has a past soaked in blood. We should probably feel the worst about the child. I will be posting any major updates throughout the day, but for more on this story please follow this link to the fansided Kansas City Chiefs Blog Arrowhead Addict.  they will be covering every detail of the story all day.
