With Ray Lewis officially a former professional football player(I literally couldn’t bring myself to describe him as a former Raven), the time has come to start considering what honers he will receive for his efforts. The Hall Call is coming, there is no doubt about that, Ray Lewis will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall Of Fame in August of 2018, That is a given.Lewis will have his number retired. I’m not sure exactly when that will happen but the odds on favorite time would be somewhere in the early parts of this coming season.

One more to the list, which has been long assumed but now seems to be official, Ray will get a statue at the Bank. He will Join Johnny U in being eternalized in Baltimore. Steve Biscotti said it is going to happen in the next year or two, and said it was a question of when, not if.

The Question now becomes, what will the statue look like? Will it be Lewis running down tackles? Maybe Lewis with a ball in his hands and the other hand to his lips telling the Coliseum to be quiet, It’s over. Will it be a moment of the Squirrel dance frozen in time forever?

No Matter what it is, I am sure tons of thought and consideration will go into it and it will be totally awesome, an icon for Baltimore Sports that will live on forevermore.
