The Ravens fourth round rookie John Simon is known as a workout warrior. In fact Mike Mayock joked durin draft coverage that Simon was most likely working out when he was drafted because that is where he spends the majority of his time. At Ohio State, Simon had a reputation for working out 3-4 times per day outside of practices. That is part of what gives him such an incredible motor on the field.

A funny story arose a couple of days ago relating to his incredible workout habits. Simon came into the Under Armour training complex and first was given a tour in which he is rumored to have tried out several of the machines in the gym. Then he made his way upstairs, signed his contract and very politely asked if it was ok if he used the facilities to work out before OTAs and press responsibilities started in a few hours.

One word. Awesome.

You can’t fake a work ethic like that. Simon is the real deal. Simon is one of the players I liked a lot coming into the draft(as did many others) because he is an extremely high character player who is a workout warrior and a film junkie. He eats sleeps and breathes football and is a Ravens kind of guy. This just further proves it. I cant wait to see this guy on the field in purple.
